A beautiful day and pitch in Giggleswick saw a full strength U13 squad of 11 arrive for their first game of the season.
Ribb took the initiative when Aire failed to tidy up from the home team's kick off and were a try up within a minute. Aire battled back in a well-matched first half that saw some great rugby from both teams with quick ball from the breakdown and some great running angles from the visitors. Ribb were one try up at half time.
In the second half Aire capitalised on the downhill advantage and were 9-6 up with 5 minutes to go following 3 consecutive tries from a marauding Ryan Selby. Bobby came achingly close to scoring his first try for the club but the ball was judged to be held up on the line.
Superb defensive efforts all round with particularly convincing tackling from Harry Adams and great rucking from Adam and Tobias.
Unfortunately concentration wained in the Aire defence late in the game and Ribb were able to sneak in 3 tries of their own to finish the match all square at 9 tries each.
All in all a super performance from our boys displaying some coherent strategy, great attacking lines and huge effort from the pack.
