This week the Crusaders face a stern challenge in a visiting Bradford Salem side, but do so, strong in confidence with what has been a success 2019 to date. With both Captain and Vice Captain absent (suspiciously some might say... have they got a timeshare they are enjoying without the rest of us) the Captaincy falls into the hands of two very capable and combative individuals Jonny Hanson (covering the forwards) and Iain Craven (covering the backs).
The Crusaders name a strong squad with some of the stalwarts of the success of the season this calendar year taking up their positions; the man-mountains of Helliwell and Sharp, the guile of the young Waugh brothers, the Welsh Wizard Rob Baker (who we hope won’t mention the GRAND SLAM too often) amongst many other fine players.
We also have excitement around the debut for the tall and athletic Andy Plant, a senior debut for Huw McGrath and the one week only return of fan favourite Connor Cree back from the Navy. Finally, we have to mention the finishers, the A-Team, the crack team we have on the bench who will bring power and experience to crack the nut of the Salem defence later in the game.
