Recently retired Aire player Granville Sellers has spent the last 14 years coaching through the Junior Section, with the last two seasons being in charge of the Colts Team (Under 17's & Under 18's.) During this time 'Granners' steered the team to the Semi Final of the Yorkshire Plate and also a respectable mid table finish in a tough Senior Colts League. In order to hit the ground running, Granners has been adding to his coaching badges; shadowing top local coaches & doing additional online training.

Granners has been with Aire' through recent tough times, but he’s excited by the challenge ahead. When asked why he has decided to step up to Head Coach, Granners stated “There’s plenty to be positive about around this club! The existing player group will be bolstered by the return of many of our 2016-2018 Colts team as well as the current crop of Colts becoming ready for Senior Rugby. In addition to this young energy, there are experienced players who have had a break coming back and the squad will have a nice balance of youth and experience."

Acknowledging the great turnout for the Jim Chapman Memorial Game on 23rd April, Granners stated "It was great to have over 300 people at the club for Jim Champman’s memorial game and the buzz in the clubhouse after was amazing! Everyone had a great time and we intend on keeping Aireborough Rugby a central part of the community for many years to come”.

Club legend Martyn Booth has taken on a new role for him as Team Manager. Martyn's attitude, knowledge and experience will be invaluable for the Club as we look to get back to winning ways!

Pre-season training will start at 2pm on Saturday 25th June. Training will be on Monday and Wednesday evenings at Nunroyd Park.
