When boys become men......
This weekend we welcome Knottingley to Nunroyd as we still aim to achieve survival and remain a Yorkshire 3 side in the 2019/20 season.
Due to injury and unavailability, this weekend we give youth a chance with 7 of our squad aged 18 and under.
In the front row we have experience in the form of Martyn Booth, Nick Jackson and Rich Lister.
They are supported in the boiler room by Sy 'Big John' Hill, and Richard Holmes who makes his seasonal debut for the 1st XV.
Captain Chris Chapman starts at blindside flanker, Mikey 'Little John' Dolan moves back from the centres into openside and Jonny 'Middle John' Mackey continues in the number 8 birth.
In the half backs, we have Stu Wilson at scrum half who will be partnered by 1st XV debutant Jacob Waugh at 10.
At inside centre, Dan Marchbank starts for the first time for the 1st XV and is partnered by Harley Stevenson-Cocks who adds ballast in the midfield.
The wings are occupied by back row Harry Beckwith and Will Marchbank, both products of Aireborough’s illustrious youth set up. Full back this week is Adam Bishop who is usually accustomed to playing scrum half.
On the bench we have Timmy Baxter, myself (hopefully not needed), Dan Walker, Iain Craven and Crusaders Captain James Underwood.
Kick off is 3pm, the bar will be open. I look forward to seeing you all.
