Aire traveled to Stocksbridge on Saturday with a depleted squad due to illness in the camp, but still expected to round off their Yorkshire Three season well against a side that have struggled this year.
Playing down the slope first half, Aire built a useful 20-6 lead, outscoring the hosts 4 tries to nil. But in a game of two halves, Stocksbridge exposed poor Aire defence (definitely not typical for Aire this season), and showed real spirit to fight back and take a bonus point win over the visiting Aire side.
We wish Stocksbridge well in Yorkshire Four next season, and a speedy return to Y3.
